Insulation is used to stop the conductive, convective and radiant heat losses. Depending on the type and method of installation, it can also perform as an air-sealer. There are several types of insulation and each has it’s advantages and disadvantages. Because of it’s relatively low cost and suitability in retrofit applications we often recommend blown cellulose. Spray foam is useful in applications where air-sealing and insulation are desired. Fiberglass and Rockwool also have their uses. We will help you decide which is best for your house. In the Education section you can read about the different types of insulation.
